Data from the Italy machine tool and Automation Manufacturers Association (UCIMU) showed that in 2010, China exceeded Germany to become the largest exporting country in Italy machine tool industry, with 14.2% of its export share.
In 2010, with the rapid growth of demand in China and other emerging countries, the operation of the machine tool industry in Italy improved significantly. The output value realized 4 billion 230 million euro, up 3.3% from the same year, the domestic sales volume was 1 billion 625 million euro, the year-on-year increase of 3.8%, the export volume of 2 billion 605 million euro, and a only increase of 3.1% over the same period.
